From Psychology to Spiritual Awakening: My Journey with the Course
“Teach only love, for that is what you are.”
I am Henri Theron, and my journey with the human psyche began in 1976 when I qualified as a counselling psychologist. For decades, I have dedicated myself to the well-being of students and adults at institutions such as the University of Stellenbosch and the University of the Free State.
Yet, despite my clinical background and academic successes, I myself searched for a deeper answer to life's questions.
In 1998, that answer came in the form of A Course in Miracles. This encounter not only transformed my own life, but also changed my entire outlook on healing.
The Translator's Heart
As a native speaker of Afrikaans, I felt a calling to make the profound wisdom of the Course accessible to my own people. It was a arduous but blessed seven-year journey—in close collaboration with Dr. Kenneth Wapnick and the Foundation for Inner Peace—to translate the 1,300 pages of the Course.
During this process I had to forge new Afrikaans concepts, such as geestesdenke (for mind), to retain the purely metaphysical meaning of the text. Today the Afrikaans translation is a reality, and it remains my greatest honor to hear the “Voice” of the Course speak in my own language with the same dignity and authority as the original text.

I help you untangle the “knots” in your life—whether they are personal crises, relationship challenges, or questions about your identity.
My Approach
I no longer believe in “analyzing darkness.” Instead, I help you remove the obstacles that prevent you from experiencing the light of your own Inner Teacher.
I have exchanged my old roles as a psychologist for that of a “happy learner” who walks with you on the bridge to peace.
Peace is a bridge that everyone must cross, but no one crosses it alone.

Education and Guidance
I am happy to help teach and support students studying the Course, whether in terms of understanding or therapeutically. Many students find the theory of the Course beautiful, but struggle when life “happens”.
This support and instruction can take place in groups. Students then have the opportunity to discuss, reflect on, and sort out problems with the content of the Course.
Individuele Sessies
Teaching and counseling are also provided on an individual level. I enjoy doing one-on-one sessions (either online or in person). It is an opportunity to reinterpret human problems — such as relationships, conflict, loss, illness, or work pressure — through the lens of the Course.
In individual sessions, you have the opportunity to work through the obstacles to inner peace more quickly — more easily than on your own. This allows you to gain a clearer, deeper understanding of spiritual Truth and Self-Realization, and work through obstacles in a safe atmosphere.
No problem is too small or too big for the miracle of a perception shift. It is about healing the mental thought, which then transforms the external experience.
